Thomas Waldron

Bio & Educational Philosophy/Core Beliefs

Tom Waldron has been a district level administrator of Instructional and Information Technologies for the past eight years.  Over this time he has worked to improve student access to technology and to provide open access to the internet.  As a teacher Tom taught high school mathemetics, environmental science, computer programing, and webpage design.  He earn his BS degree from Fort Hays State University and his MS degree in instructional design from Emporia State University. Currently he works for the Manitowoc Public School District.  Tom will say his experience with using Mobile phones as an instructional tool is exploratory and basic.  However, he believes that this technology will become an important tool for student learning.

I base my decisions and actions on how my decisions and actions positively support and promote student learning. This is accomplished by providing rich and engaging instructional content and by limiting factors/variables that limit or impede a student from reaching their highest potential. This is accomplished by participating, encouraging and supporting a collaborative learning environment. This is accomplished by adapting instructional research to enhance student achievement. This is accomplished by linking student performance to the curriculum and being held accountable for student performance. This is accomplished by negating diverse factors that affect student learning. This is accomplished by sharing the responsibility of student learning with the community. This is accomplished by being a caring and empathic individual who is willing to confront management barriers that retard student intellectual growth and exploration.
